The Smart i Appliance is a low-cost, data analytics solution for small and mid-size businesses needing the benefits of a Business Intelligence solution without the cost and complexity of current solutions. Smart i is based on easy-to-use, proven technologies of the IBM System i and Power ServerTM, the first Open Source ETL software from Talend, and IBM's powerful Web Query analytics engine. Smart i includes pre-packaged Quick Start services that include hardware & software install and configuration as well as user training on IBM Web Query, Talend's ETL tool, plus a basic Data Mart, three reports and overall knowledge transfer to ensure successful implementation and use.

What is the Smart i Appliance?
Smart i comes complete with the following tightly integrated components:
- Server Appliance Entry level System i 515 or Power Server 520 Express, each with 350-500 GB disk storage.
- Software Optimized Open Source software provides a flexible ETL tool. Its tightly integrated with IBM's Web Query, providing a powerful query and reporting interface for any business.
- Fast and Easy Installation Quick Start 2-week implementation and training program provides ETL process, a Data Mart and up to 3 reports. Implementation/training provided by Systech and Key implementation services groups.
Scalability
Smart i scales from IBM's entry-level System i 515 or Power Server™ up to the high end of these server families. Both hardware and software are upgradable. Disk scales from 350 GB to the multi-terabyte range.
Processing speeds increase with server model upgrades.
Portability
Existing IBM Query/400 programs can be easily ported to the Smart i Appliance.
Support
1 year technical support is provided to ensure smooth implementation/operation:
- IBM OS/400, i5 or i 6.1 operating systems
- IBM Web Query running native under above operating systems with GUI interface
- Talend open source ETL and Data Integration software solutions
- Key and Systech implementation assistance
Pricing
Year 1 Full Smart i Appliance and support for one year is under $50,000.
Year 2+ Tech support available from IBM, Systech and Talend after Year 1.
