The
IBM ESS 800 is the newest addition to a family of intelligent
storage servers, designed to be the most versatile and cost-efficient
storage server in its class, offering many new flexible features
including an available six-way "turbo" configuration
that efficiently handles up to 150% more data operations per second.
With its expanded 64 GB internal cache and increased 3.2 Gbps
internal bandwidth, the Model 800 can satisfy the performance
demands of emerging data-intensive markets, such as life sciences
and digital media. The ESS 800 also now supports RAID-10 data
mirroring and striping for performance-sensitive applications,
such as on-line transaction processing.
