Key has been working with experts on WebSphere at Echospace, Inc. in the Seattle area and this newsletter reports on what we’ve learned. There are new ways to significantly speed up WebSphere’s workflow customization and to create flexible, dynamic portlet layouts.

Echospace developed WebSphere TurboCharger™ to add greater usability where it’s needed for WebSphere users: in ease-of-use for customizing pages as workflow needs change.

Workflow efficiency: A single User Interface (UI) is provided for personalizing your Web pages. Customize pages with drag-and-drop technology as often as your current task changes, using the power embedded in the browser. With the standard WebSphere installation, moving a portlet from one column to another or changing its width takes as many as 7 web pages. With the TurboCharger, the same changes can be done on the fly without visiting another web page.

How is it done? Echospace developed SinglePage™ technology to create an interface or skin that sits on top of WebSphere and revolutionizes the user’s experience. Since 1999, Echospace has been partnering with IBM to enhance and extend the Reach and User Experience portion of WebSphere’s strategic model.

What’s the result? Benefits experienced by WebSphere users with this technology include:
  • Faster, more responsive and functional UIs.
  • Native browser capabilities with no ActiveX controls, no Java Applets and no software downloads.
  • New capabilities that WebSphere users gain include:

Drag-and-drop repositioning of portlets – Unlike the default WebSphere installation that buries portlet layout controls
