Interview with Michael Bilancieri at Marathon Technologies on what High Availability is today.

We asked Michael Bilancieri, Director of Products at Marathon Technologies, about his views on high availability today.

Bilancieri told INsights, “High availability is certainly getting a lot of press these days. Unfortunately everyone seems to have their own definitions for the common availability terms to suit their own products' functionality.”

Bilancieri added that Marathon believes these definitions should be based on what businesses need, not on what the vendors want them to mean. “As vendors, we shouldn’t be twisting definitions to make our products seem to fit, but rather help businesses understand what they actually need and provide appropriate solutions. This approach helps businesses to better understand what they are getting and how a particular solution will address their requirements” concluded Bilancieri.
