Security Data Loss and Leakage
Webinar replay: Data Leakage – Combating IT's Biggest Security Threat
Organizations now face a more damaging IT security threat -- data leakage from INSIDE their network, either unintended or malicious. At Key's February 28th webinar, Will Irace, IBM Security Solutions Architect, presented Combating IT's Biggest Security Threat - Data Leakage. He discussed a completely new framework for thinking about data leakage that turns the way people normally think about security on its head.

Irace also reported that the full list of direct costs due to data loss includes internal investigation, notification of loss, crisis management, regulatory compliance and loss of future business. IBM says the average cost for each compromised record is $186 and the typical security breach costs a company from $90 to $305 per lost record.

View the archived webinar Combating Data Leakage here.

Fact: The seriousness of data leakage was recently underscored in a survey where 77 percent questioned said they would stop shopping at any store where there was a loss of confidential customer files.

Key Touted in Article for Sponsoring PGA Golf Tournament
Key gives back to the community by sponsoring the Northern Trust Open
For the third year in a row, Key Information Systems sponsored the PGA Golf Tourney in Los Angeles. And this time MC PressOnline ran an article on Key's philosophy of giving back to the community in IT Companies Shell Out for Charity. Formerly known as the Nissan Open, this year the sponsor name for the event was the Northern Trust Open. The classic golfing charity event that began in 1926 was won by a tourney favorite, Phil Mickelson, who collected $1,116,000 out of the $6.2 million purse.

Pete Elliot, Key's Director of Marketing, said, "We managed to raise $35,000 for this outstanding golfing event with our co-sponsors: AVNET, Azaleos, Brocade, IBM Tivoli and VMware. The funds we raised were to support the community service programs sponsored by the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce." Elliot concluded, "If you've got it, you owe it to your local community to share it... it's all part of the green experience."
