HPE Hybrid Cloud Solutions: A Review

HPE Helion Hybrid CloudUsers of Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE) hybrid cloud solutions can choose from a raft of HPE upgrades and additions. The company has been busy adding significant horsepower to an already powerful, flexible business solution.

For example, organizations drowning in unstructured data should take a close look at HPE’s 3PAR StorServ or its recently upgraded StoreEasy Storage NAS Portfolio, with configurations featuring the Microsoft Windows Storage Server operating system, newer and more powerful Intel Xeon processors and high-speed memory. Already the densest 2U storage solution on the market, StoreEasy now offers 10TB drive bundles that increase storage capacity by 25 percent, scaling all the way up to 280TB on the HPE StoreEasy 1650. Along with the new drives, the system provides a provisioning tool that optimizes for capacity and performance, enhanced deduplication and compression to maximize usable storage space and tools for easy capacity expansion. It also includes new security features designed to protect data in transit from man-in-the-middle attacks and doubles the encryption performance for large files of previous versions.

Meanwhile, HPE’s Easy Connect family are agile, scalable hybrid cloud solutions for small and medium businesses, educational institutions or enterprises with multiple remote or branch offices and limited IT resources. Like HPE ProLiant servers, Easy Connect solutions are managed remotely and pre-integrated with cloud services, making it easy to strike the right mix of cloud agility and on-premises control. HPE also upgraded its Flex Solutions for Microsoft SQL Server 2016, including new hybrid flash storage systems for better performance.

These are all available on top of Helion Openstack, one the most flexible hybrid cloud orchestration and management platforms on the market. KeyInfo’s KeyCloud uses Helion to enable customers to deploy applications across the hybrid cloud seamlessly to fit their exact needs. KeyCloud also features HP’s market leading 3PAR flash enabled SAN storage and ProLiant Gen9 Servers, plus HIPAA and HITECH compliance and 99.999 percent uptime.
