HPE’s Strategy: Look for channel partners that focus on the cloud

Hybrid Cloud EnvironmentThese days, IT is all about the cloud, as organizations in a variety of industries look to increase the agility and efficiency of their data centers and at the same time keep technology and energy costs under control.

Like many data center technology providers, HPE has been focusing on the development of cloud-based solutions, as well as on winning over successful channel partners in the cloud market. HPE’s growing relationship with KeyInfo provides a clear example of this strategy.

KeyInfo understands HPE’s renewed focus on the cloud market, and particularly the hybrid cloud environment. Because our compute, storage and networking solutions and professional services are centered around advanced software-defined data centers, an emphasis on the cloud makes perfect sense and synergy with HPE. HPE’s shift in strategy signals a more focused approach, with a move to a hybrid cloud environment seen as the ultimate goal for many of its customers.

Having partners with high competencies in the cloud, hosting and colocation solutions market is a smart move—and a beneficial one both for our clients. By now, migrating applications and workloads to the cloud is not a question of if, but when for many companies. Lots of these organizations will need guidance in making this dramatic shift to the cloud, and our managed services and professional services offerings will provide the expertise clients need.

The focus on the cloud in the business community will no doubt continue to grow. Research firm Gartner Inc. in February 2017 forecast that the worldwide public cloud services market will grow 18 percent in 2017, totaling $246.8 billion, up from $209.2 billion in 2016. Cloud application services such as software as a service (SaaS) are expected to grow 20 percent this year.

Organizations are pursuing strategies because of the multi-dimensional value of cloud services, Gartner said, including values such as agility, scalability, cost benefits, innovation and business growth. While all IT sourcing decisions will not result in a virtually automatic shift to the cloud, organizations are looking to the cloud first in their decisions, the firm said.
