(KeyInfo), a Converge Technology Solutions Company, is proud to announce the successful completion of SOC 1 Type 2, SOC 2 Type 2, and an attestation examination related to HIPAA and HITECH. With the successful completion of these examinations, we are happy to provide our customers with the peace of mind that their information is safe.”

For more information on the examinations, please read below.

The SOC 1, Type 2 examination reviewed the company’s Data Center and Cloud Services between the dates of April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020. The controls addressed in a SOC 1 examination are those that a service organization implements to prevent, or detect and correct, errors or omissions in the information it provides to user entities. By engaging an independent CPA to examine and report on a service organization’s controls, service organizations can respond to meet the needs of their user entities and obtain an objection evaluation of the effectiveness of controls that address operations and compliance, as well as financial reporting at those user entities.

The SOC 2, Type 2 examination is formerly known as a Report on Controls at a Service Organization Relevant to Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, or Privacy. SOC 2 reports are attestation reports that opine on controls at a service organization relevant to the security, availability, or process integrity of a system or the confidentiality or privacy of the information processed for the user entities. There are five Trust Services that a service organization may opt to be evaluated against which include Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality and Privacy. For purposes of this examination, KeyInfo opted into Security and Availability.

The Attestation Examination, formerly known as an Independent Practitioner’s Report on the Information Security Program Related to HIPAA and HITECH. While there is no such thing as a HIPAA certification, this examination serves as a way for organizations to show they have had a third party review their HIPAA policies, procedures, and controls and assess them for the conformance against the HIPAA Security and HITECH Breach Notification Rule requirements. The examination provides additional peace of mind for customers that KeyInfo will appropriately safeguard protected health information.
